	About the BUICK CENTURY Buick used the name Century for both a full-size car and a mid-size car. There were two generations of the full-size Century, ending in 1942 and 1972. Buick began production on the mid-size Century in 1973. The first generation of the mid-size Century ? until 1977 ? was available as a 4-door sedan, a 2-door coupe, or a 4-door station wagon with a V6 and a V8 engine available. The second generation mid-size Century ? until 1981 ? was available in all the same body styles as the previous generation but only a V6 engine was available. The third generation ? until 1996 ? was again available with all the same body styles as the previous two generations. Several engines were available for the third generation including a 3.3 liter V6, a diesel V6, and a 2.2 liter inline-4 engine. This generation came with a 3 or 4-speed automatic transmission. The fourth generation ? until 2005 ? was available only as a 4-door sedan. It came with a 3.1 liter V6 engine and a 3 or 4-speed automatic transmission.
